| Monza Club Ibiza 2009 More than ever there is only one place to be for Thursday nights on Ibiza's Summer. We celebrate our 5th anniversary! The latest in electronic house music will be once more presented by Monza Club Ibiza at Privilege 2009. With the optimized soundsystem in the mainfloor, in the club the Guinness Book has certified as the largest in the world, Monza at Privilege represents the dawn of a new era in Ibiza Club Culture. The lineup is as avantgardistic as never. For its fifth straight season setting the pace for Ibiza's party vanguard, Monza puts the pedal to the metal with a roster representing the finest DJs and live acts in contemporary house and techno. Troy Pierce, M.A.N.D.Y., Luciano, Matthias Tanzmann, Mathias Kaden, Marco Carola, Matt John, Konrad Black, Tobi Neumann, Mathew Johnson live and Audion live are just a few of the names illuminating this year's starlit marquis. We present Newcomers like Marcel Dettmann, Valentino Kanzyani, D'Julz, Luna City Express and the DJ-Duo from Romania, Livio & Roby to ensure the continuity of the party's legendary tradition, while celebrated locals like Bruno Monteverde, Nima Gorji, Hofer66, José de Divina and Manu-L maintain Monza's roots in Ibiza's local underground culture. We proudly present Omar S., the legendary Detroit Techno DJ and for our special 5-year's celebration we invite MasoMenos live! And that's not to mention the season's coup de grace with closing-party headliners Luciano, Ricardo Villalobos and Raresh. Monza at Privilege is where next year's wildest stories will be born. * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * Monza Club Ibiza is a descendent of the legendary Monza Club in Frankfurt, founded in 1999 by Patrik Dechent and Thomas Koch (aka Get Physical's DJ T., and the former editor of Groove magazine). Monza first arrived in Ibiza in 2002 when the club hosted two nights at Cocoon's celebrated party at Amnesia; in 2003, Cocoon gave Monza four nights to work their magic. 2005 marked the beginning of the real Monza Ibiza story, as Dechent and his new partner Ariel Giordano Dotti - a veteran of El Divino, Cocoon, and Roger Sanchez' Release Yourself party - launched a new weekly on Thursday at the storied Penelope, routinely drawing 1500 partygoers. In 2006, Monza moved to Space, where they increased their public and earned a top slot in Ibiza's contentious pecking order thanks to a buoyant, celebratory vibe and lineups presenting the kind of advanced musical fare that remained a rarity elsewhere on the island. In its first two years of operations, Monza counts Heidi - well known for her respected Monza Club Ibiza compilation for Get Physical - Troy Pierce and Trentemøller among the artists it introduced to an island still stuck in a diva-house loop. Quite simply, the new Ibiza - more sophisiticated, more educated, more over-the-top, more outré-couldn't have happened without Monza. Since 2007 season finds Monza - named for the storied Grand Prix race circuit in northern Italy - taking its well-oiled engine to new extremes. Privilege's two rooms boast a 10,000-person capacity, and the party's Thursday slot makes it the destination for advanced European house music that night of the week. For fans of a certain stripe - discerning, hedonistic, as demanding as they are generous - there simply is no other place to be. |
